• For veterans attending a Compensation and Pension (C&P) exam, please bring a valid photo ID that shows your name and date of birth (for example, a driver’s license or other government‑issued ID).

    • For patients coming for an auditory processing evaluation, please bring any relevant previous test results and documentation of related or prior diagnoses (for example, APD, ADD/ADHD), as well as any records that describe listening‑related symptoms or concerns.

    • Telehealth appointments for C&P testing are provided only when approved by the VA or our partners (VES, LSGS, QTC).

    • Telehealth appointments for APD intervention or therapy are scheduled in advance; patients will receive a link with directions and, if needed, a checklist of compatible equipment.

    • All veterans or service members scheduled for evaluation are expected to attend unless they provide prior notice. Veterans and active members are called before their appointment for confirmation or given the appropriate contact for rescheduling. SOMD Wellness is not authorized to reschedule appointments for Loyal Source, VES, or QTC without prior approval. It is the veteran’s responsibility to request a new appointment if their original scheduled time creates a conflict.

    • All patients scheduled for APD testing will be notified one week before the appointment. There is currently no cancellation fee. If an emergency requires same‑day cancellation, a courtesy call is appreciated.

    • SOMD Wellness is NOT partnered with major insurance companies. Because coverage for APD services is typically limited and insurance costs often rise disproportionately, using insurance is generally not beneficial for patients or the clinic.

    • Auditory Processing Disorder evaluations and treatments are paid out of pocket; please consult your provider for payment options.

    • SOMD Wellness does NOT provide paid Nexus letters or independent medical evaluations (IMEs). We perform only C&P exams as designated by our partners (LSGS, VES, QTC), strictly following VA guidelines.

  • SOMD Wellness works with local partners for services we do not provide onsite:

    • Tinnitus evaluations & management

    • Hearing‑aid consultations and evaluations

    • Hearing‑aid fittings

    • Consultation for service members transitioning to commercial pilot careers

    • Local veteran‑focused charity organizations

    • SOMD Wellness is accessible. If you need an interpreter or have any other special request, please inform staff when confirming your appointment so we can accommodate you for a smooth visit.
