At SOMD Wellness, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for veterans and active service members by providing exceptional audiological and general medical care, focused on completion of compensation and pension exams. We also offer auditory processing disorder (APD) evaluations to help our community improve overall hearing health. Our dedicated team of licensed Doctors of Audiology, physician assistants, and certified nurse practitioners proudly serves the greater Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.
GENERAL MEDICINE
Our providers conduct VA-compliant Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams—including interviews and physical examinations during veterans’ C&P application processes. This improves access to exams and helps shorten the long wait times often experienced at traditional VA facilities.
AUDIOLOGY EVALUATION
Our audiologists conduct comprehensive hearing and tinnitus evaluations in accordance with VA Compensation & Pension requirements. Each exam includes a thorough assessment that integrates the veteran’s medical history and military noise exposure to provide a holistic view of their auditory health.
APD EVALUATION
An evaluation that assesses how the brain processes sound rather than how the ears detect it. It is recommended for individuals who struggle to understand speech, especially in noisy environments despite normal hearing or use of hearing devices. Results help identify auditory processing disorders and guide targeted interventions to improve communication and listening skills.
